Versatile artist, writer, poet, actor, director and impersonator Emil Filipcic (Belgrade, 1951) studied directing at AGRFT and established himself as a writer and playwright with an extensive literary opus. Together with Mark Dergance , he is the author of the cult satirical radio play Butnskala, which in the early 80s 20s. for centuries recorded for Radio student and played many characters in it. He is one of the first collaborators of Radio Ga Ga. In 2011, he received the Preseren Fund award for his novel Problemi.
He devoted himself to drama mainly in the eighties and Nineties of the 20s. at the beginning of the XIX century, when it was also often staged in Slovenian theaters, with nine dramatic texts staged, it ranks among the most prolific Slovenian playwrights. He is an inventive and provocative author, both in drama and prose, difficult to catch in the genre. Taras Kermauner called his writing luddistic, and later lumpist, with a characteristic grotesque satiricity, fantasticness and black humor.
The New Comedy Of Joy home was christened on the 17th. in August 1996 at the Ohrid summer festival, and in September 1996 at the Lower Hall of the SMG directed by Niko Gorsic alias Nick upper. The comedy, created at the end of his creative period in drama, comes closest in genre to the drama of the absurd, which all the time skillfully oscillates between the comic and the tragic, and in the end turns into the grotesque.
In the center of the action is a married couple, Tonka and Polde. Their wedding photos are still fresh, and they begin to replay various scenes of their married life. The playful and cheerful beginning soon turns into a marital routine, fed up and rough mutual reckoning, and the climax of scolding, accusations and threats almost ends tragically. Almost thirty years after the creation of the comedy, which carries undertones of male superiority, it is imperative to ask the question: "what has changed in the relationship between the sexes during this time?"Have the roles changed? Which raises an interesting staging question: "What happens if the roles in the text are switched?«
"It takes two to have a relationship. Adam and Eve, husband and wife, me and you. If we really love each other, we bond in love with(a). You and I become US. Now there are already four of us: Me, Me and US. It's nice in the beginning when it's just the two of us, but then it gets a bit agonizing, uncluttered, concretely tight. I would need absolution for my commitments now. I would like to be a little me again, and you too; and we could go for a little vacation to Grandma Marinka. And when we also move away from each other and try to find each of our selves, the joy of home only begins ..."

Vsestranski umetnik, pisatelj, pesnik, igralec, režiser in imitator Emil Filipčič (Beograd, 1951) je študiral režijo na AGRFT in se uveljavil kot pisatelj in dramatik z obsežnim literarnim opusom. Skupaj z Markom Dergancem je avtor kultne satirične radijske igre Butnskala , ki sta jo v začetku 80-ih let 20. stoletja posnela za Radio Študent in v njej odigrala številne like. Je eden izmed prvih sodelavcev Radia Ga Ga. Leta 2011 je za roman Problemi prejel nagrado Prešernovega sklada.
Dramatiki se je posvečal predvsem v osemdesetih in devetdesetih letih 20. stoletja, ko je bila v slovenskih gledališčih tudi pogosto uprizarjana, z devetimi uprizorjenimi dramskimi besedili pa se uvršča med najplodnejše slovenske dramatike. Je inventiven in provokativen avtor, tako v dramatiki kot prozi, zvrstno težko ulovljiv. Taras Kermauner je njegovo pisanje označil za ludistično, pozneje pa lumpistično, z značilno groteskno satiričnostjo, fantastičnostjo in črnim humorjem.
Nova komedija Veselja dom je bila krstno uprizorjena 17. avgusta 1996 na festivalu Ohridsko poletje, septembra 1996 pa v spodnji dvorani SMG v režiji Nika Goršiča alias Nicka Upperja. Komedija, ki je nastala na koncu njegovega ustvarjalnega obdobja v dramatiki, se zvrstno najbolj približa drami absurda, ki ves čas spretno niha med komičnim in tragičnim, na koncu pa preide v grotesko.
V središču dogajanja je zakonski par, Tončka in Polde. Njune poročne fotografije so še sveže, onadva pa začneta preigravati različne prizore njunega zakonskega življenja. Igriv in vesel začetek se kmalu prevesi v zakonsko rutino, naveličanost in grobo medsebojno obračunavanje, vrhunec zmerjanja, obtožb in groženj pa se skorajda konča tragično. Skoraj trideset let po nastanku komedije, ki nosi podtone moške premoči, si je nujno zastaviti vprašanje: »Kaj se je v tem času v odnosu med spoloma spremenilo?« So se vloge zamenjale? Kar sproža zanimivo uprizoritveno vprašanje: »Kaj se zgodi, če vlogi v besedilu zamenjamo?«
»Za odnos sta potrebna dva. Adam in Eva, Mož in Žena, Jaz in Ti. Če se imava res rada, se v ljubezni z(a)veževa. Jaz in Ti postaneva Midva. Zdaj smo že štirje: Jaz, Jaz in Midva. Na začetku je lepo, ko sva samo Midva, potem pa postane nekoliko mučno, neokretno, konkretno tesno. Za svoje zaveze bi zdaj rabila odveze. Jaz bi bil spet rad malo Jaz in ti tudi; in Midva bi šla lahko malo na počitnice k babi Marinki. In ko se tudi midva oddaljujeva eden od drugega in poskušava poiskati vsak svoj jaz, se šele začne Veselja dom …«
