Singer-songwriter Leon Matek appeared on the Slovenian music scene at the end of the Eighties with the rock band too late for crocodiles. He continued his journey with Mirko Sesko in tandem and later the group Juhej and Vuhmepis, which in the nineties was “the messenger of today a fairly widespread mixture of folk songwriting, allusions to folk music, rock, blues and more” (radio student). This was followed by three years of music in the duet LeonzMinko with Bosnian accordion player Hazemina / Musiconli/, and then in 2007 Matek stepped on the solo path with the album Zrno. He continued it with the 2011 album Most, on which he played the oriental instrument saz baglama alongside his guitar, with which he enriched his music with hints and textures of the Balkans and the Orient. At the end of 2018, Matko's last album Heart you have so much was released on which we find “a good number of extraordinary songs that conquer the listener either with painful sincerity or with humorous fuck-up, but at the same time the album also offers a thoughtfully composed whole that skillfully connects the bitter and cheerful side of human existence ... and much in between” (Radio student).

Kantavtor Leon Matek se je na slovenski glasbeni sceni pojavil konec osemdesetih let prejšnjega stoletja z rokovsko skupino Prepozno za krokodile. Svojo pot je nadaljeval z Mirkom Seškom v tandemu in kasneje skupini Juhej in Vuhmepiš, ki je bila v devetdesetih “glasnik danes precej razširjene mešanice folk kantavtorstva, aluzij na ljudske viže, rocka, bluesa in še česa” (Radio Študent). Sledilo je triletno muziciranje v duetu LeonzMinko z bosansko harmonikašico Hazemino Đonlić, potem pa je leta 2007 Matek z albumom Zrno stopil na solistično pot. Nadaljeval jo je z leta 2011 izdanim albumom Most, na katerem je ob kitari igral tudi orientalsko glasbilo saz baglama, s katerim je svojo glasbo obogatil s pridihom in teksturami Balkana ter Orienta. Konec leta 2018 je izšel Matkov zadnji album Srce imaš tako veliko na katerem najdemo “lepo število izjemnih pesmi, ki poslušalca osvojijo bodisi z bolečo iskrenostjo bodisi s šaljivo zajebancijo, a hkrati album ponuja tudi premišljeno sestavljeno celoto, ki spretno povezuje trpko in veselo plat človeškega bivanja … pa še marsikaj vmes” (Radio Študent).
