MEGARON CHAMBER CHOIR

In October 2003 , the Megaron Chamber Choir was founded on the initiative of composer and conductor Damian Mochnik, in which alumni of the Diocesan classical gymnasium sing. Over the course of two decades, it has developed into a top-class band, distinguished by its recognisably rich sound and impressive interpretations of compositions of various stylistic periods. He also boasts excellent placements in competitions. Among other things, in 2022, at the competition our song in Maribor, he received the golden plaque and the award for the best performance of a foreign composition written from 20. in the same year, at the International Chamber Choir Competition, Marktoberdorf won among Mixed Choirs, won the second prize of the competition and two special awards – the special prize for the best performance of a compulsory composition from the Renaissance period and the prize for the best program of the competition; and in 2023, at the Gallus – Maribor international choral competition, it emerged as the best mixed choir and won prizes for a total of 3. the city and the best Slovenian band. The Megaron Chamber Choir, with selected concert programs, successes in competitions, regular cooperation with Slovenian and foreign symphony orchestras and successful concert tours in Europe and the USA, draws a trace on the Slovenian music scene. They will certainly leave a visible mark with this concert, which he named in the middle of our lives.

KOMORNI ZBOR MEGARON

Po nekajletnem predvsem projektnem delovanju v različnih zasedbah je bil na pobudo skladatelja in dirigenta Damijana Močnika oktobra 2003 ustanovljen Komorni zbor Megaron , v katerem prepevajo alumni Škofijske klasične gimnazije. V dveh desetletjih se je razvil v vrhunsko zasedbo, ki se odlikuje po prepoznavnem bogatem zvoku in navdušujočih interpretacijah skladb različnih stilnih obdobij. Ponaša se tudi z odličnimi uvrstitvami na tekmovanjih. Med drugim je leta 2022 na tekmovanju Naša pesem v Mariboru prejel zlato plaketo in priznanje za najboljšo izvedbo tuje skladbe, napisane od 20. stoletja dalje; istega leta je na Mednarodnem tekmovanju komornih zborov Marktoberdorf zmagal med mešanimi zbori, osvojil drugo nagrado tekmovanja in dve posebni priznanji – posebno nagrado za najboljšo izvedbo obvezne skladbe iz obdobja renesanse ter nagrado za najboljši program tekmovanja; leta 2023 pa se je na Mednarodnem zborovskem tekmovanju Gallus – Maribor izkazal kot najboljši mešani zbor ter osvojil nagradi za skupno 3. mesto in najboljšo slovensko zasedbo. Komorni zbor Megaron z izbranimi koncertnimi programi, uspehi na tekmovanjih, rednim sodelovanjem s slovenskimi in tujimi simfoničnimi orkestri ter uspešnimi koncertnimi turnejami po Evropi in ZDA zarisuje sled na slovenskem glasbenem prizorišču. Gotovo bodo viden pečat pustili tudi s tokratnim koncertom, ki ga je poimenoval Sredi smo življenja.
