"Araucaria angustifolia is a unique tree that impresses with its beauty and resilience, and can live for hundreds of years. As the protagonist and eyewitness to the stories that shaped my path, the Brazilian Pine goes beyond its natural role in the flora there, as it also personifies the return to my own roots and the establishment of ties with the changes that were the consequences of time and migrations.
The area of the pine forest in Paran / / has been drastically reduced over time due to uncontrolled occupation of the territory and unbridled urbanization. The transformation of the regional landscape directly reflects my own history. Just as humans depend on each other for their survival, Brazilian pine trees do not survive on their own; in fact, to produce seeds , pinh animato, they depend on the wind for pollination. The idea of interdependence and renewal reflects the family cycle metaphorically represented by the pine cone and the House. A cone that falls to the ground, cracks and scatters seeds, from which new trees grow, is like a family experiencing periods of separation and renewal.
Like the seeds of the pine cone, photographs have the power to confront us with the memories we have stored and those that, even after falling to the ground, still carry the promise of new beginnings."- M'amacrcia Beltr'amacio
