We read in order to better see the world and ourselves in it. We spend time together to read and meet others.
This time we will talk about the novel by the Serbian poet and playwright Milena Markovi children .
The autobiographical narrative represents a literary hybrid, as it fuses poetry and the novel in verse. Through rhythm and other poetic means, he leads us on an elated journey through the past, marked by the search for ourselves in the midst of a multi-family but alienated family and historical chaos.
Through the narrative, key questions are raised about the position of the traditional family and the status of children in the modern world, especially in the Balkans, caught in endless historical whirlpools. Anger, injustice, cynicism, vulgarity and regret are intertwined in a characteristic style with the dust-soaked poetic beauty of Crystal memories.
The work won the Serbian Nin award for Best Novel in 2021 .

Tokrat bomo govorili o romanu srbske pesnice in dramatičarke Milene Marković Otroci .
Avtobiografska pripoved predstavlja literarni hibrid, saj spaja poezijo in roman v verzih.
Bralno skupino vodi pisateljica in profesorica slovenščine Mirana Likar Bajželj.
