Comedy of messes from the backstage of the Opera Theater
Cleveland, 1934. In the local opera house, everything is ready for the peak of the anniversary season, the performance of the world famous soprano and, according to Time magazine, the most "hot" woman in the world – Elena Firenzi. The guest in the luxurious hotel suite is eagerly awaited by the intendant of the Opera House, Mrs. Modullie, and her assistant Jo. But since the prima donna is late, she feels bad, and to top it off, after a passionate outburst of jealousy, her husband writes her a farewell letter and disappears, reaching for sleeping pills and alcohol. The cancellation of the performance would be a ruin for the Opera House, so at the urging of Mrs. Modullie, the inconspicuous, but singularly talented assistant Jo jumps into the role of Carmen. The moment Jo finds herself on stage, the real prima donna wakes up and goes to the Opera ... at this point the comedy action just gets complicated. Complete confusion with the real Elena and Elena's disguised Assistant is provided by the horny suitors, Join's lukewarm fiance Jerr / / and the authentic Dutch tenor Leo, who are also added by the whimsical president of the opera company. So I had to start writing comedy from scratch".
The comedy, which is distinguished by witty dialogues and, above all, elements of Boulevard comedy, such as disguises, character replacements, fast pace and surprises behind closed doors, will be directed in our theater by Katja Pegan, who is considered one of the leading comedy directors in our country. With the performance of the prima donna at the Koper Theatre, we continue to perform the genre that we set with our previous hits such as the bedroom antics, the (totally) disastrous dinner and others.
Komedija zmešnjav iz zakulisja opernega gledališča
Cleveland, 1934. V tamkajšnji operni hiši je vse pripravljeno na vrhunec jubilejne sezone, nastop svetovno znane sopranistke in po oceni revije Time najbolj »vroče« ženske na svetu – Elene Firenzi. Gostjo v razkošnem hotelskem apartmaju nestrpno pričakujeta intendantka operne hiše, gospa Wylie, in njena asistentka Jo. Toda, ker primadona zamuja, se počuti slabo, za nameček pa ji njen mož po strastnem izbruhu ljubosumja napiše še poslovilno pismo in izgine, poseže po uspavalih in alkoholu. Odpoved predstave bi za operno hišo pomenila propad, zato na prigovarjanje gospe Wylie v vlogo Carmen vskoči neopazna, toda pevsko nadarjena asistentka Jo. V trenutku, ko se Jo znajde na odru, se prava primadona prebudi in napoti v Opero … Na tem mestu se komedijsko dogajanje šele prav zaplete. Za popolno zmedo ob pravi Eleni in v Eleno preoblečeni asistentki poskrbita še pohotna snubca, Join mlačni zaročenec Jerry in pristni nizozemski tenorist Leo, svoje doda tudi muhasta predsednica opernega društva. Komedija se, kot se za žanr bulvarke spodobi, razplete v zadovoljstvo vseh: primadona se bo odslej bolj kot karieri in mladim moškim posvečala možu, Jerry, sin gospe Wylie, pa preneha omahovati in v Jo prepozna bodočo partnerko.
Komedija Kje je primadona (2022) je predelava komedije Ti nori tenorji ( Lend Me a Tenor ), ki jo je ameriški dramatik in režiser Ken Ludwig napisal leta 1986. Ohranil je dramsko dogajanje, vendar pa je v njej tri vodilne moške vloge zamenjal z ženskimi, s čimer je v temelju zamajal in spremenil moško-ženske odnose, z njimi pa tudi očišče komedije, saj, kot pravi, »Ženske drugače čustvujejo in se na enake situacije čustveno odzivajo popolnoma drugače kot moški. Zato sem moral komedijo začeti pisati od začetka«.
Komedijo, ki jo odlikujejo duhoviti dialogi, predvsem pa elementi bulvarne komedije, kot so preobleke, zamenjave oseb, hiter tempo in presenečenja za zaprtimi vrati, bo v našem gledališču režirala Katja Pegan, ki velja za eno vodilnih režiserk komedij pri nas. Z uprizoritvijo Primadone v Gledališču Koper nadaljujemo z uprizarjanjem žanra, ki smo ga zastavili z našimi dosedanjimi uspešnicami kot so Norčije v spalnicah , (Totalno) katastrofalna večerja in drugimi.
