In the context of the Kette and Cankar year, a cycle of lectures and talks will take place under the title Kette and Cankar: between the domestic tradition and the vast landscape of European modernism, in which we want to revive and at the same time complement the images of both literary creators of our time.
The focus will be on their spiritual, intellectual and, of course, literary heritage, which also puts us all before the duty to transmit it in an appropriate way to future generations and preserve it for the future. The views of the vélikega of the Bow, and the vélikega Vrhničana make it through all the long year 2026 to welcome more of the panel of eminent experts.
The cycle will be opened by the theologian, slavist, essayist Peter Kovacic Pershin (1945), among others, the author of the book How to think of God (2024), in which he also "copes" with the sonnetistics of Dragotin Kette.
With him will be about it already 5. February 2025 at 18. at the Maksa Samsa Library, Kette's compatriot, literary historian and full professor of Slovenian literature at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana, Prof. dr. Urska Perenic, who in cooperation with the regional branch of the JSKD Ilirska Bistrica and The Literary Society Ilirska Bistrica, also initiated the professional cycle and designed its program.
The cycle of lectures and talks is financially supported by the municipality of Ilirska Bistrica.
V okviru Kettejevega in Cankarjevega leta se bo pod naslovom Kette in Cankar: Med domačo tradicijo in prostrano pokrajino evropskega modernizma odvil cikel predavanj in pogovorov, v katerih želimo podobi obeh književnih ustvarjalcev svojega časa obuditi in obenem dopolniti za (da)naš(nji) čas.
Težišče bo na njuni duhovni, intelektualni in seveda literarni dediščini, ki nas vse postavlja tudi pred dolžnost, da jo na primeren način posredujemo bodočim generacijam in ohranjamo za prihodnost. Svoje poglede na vélikega Premca in vélikega Vrhničana bo skozi vse dolgo leto 2026 predstavilo več uglednih strokovnjakov.
Cikel bo odprl teolog, slavist, esejist Peter Kovačič Peršin (1945), med drugim avtor knjige Kako misliti Boga (2024), v kateri se "spopade" tudi s sonetistiko Dragotina Ketteja.
Z njim se bo o tem že 5. februarja 2025 ob 18. uri v Knjižnici Makse Samsa pogovarjala Kettejeva rojakinja, literarna zgodovinarka in redna profesorica za slovensko književnost na Filozofski fakulteti Univerze v Ljubljani, prof. dr. Urška Perenič , ki je v sodelovanju z območno izpostavo JSKD Ilirska Bistrica in Literarnim društvom Ilirska Bistrica tudi dala pobudo za strokovni cikel in zasnovala njegov program.
