Karp godina's oeuvre is clearly defined by the formal determinant – which is also the central fabric of the present exhibition – to which he constantly returns as an author. It is about the aesthetics of vivid images intertwined with the rare ability to see the excess in the banality of everyday life. This excess can sometimes be a critical recognition of the contradictions of the social structure, it can be the recognition of sublime beauty, or it can simply be the channeling of joyful fascination and affection for fellow human beings, whom he meets as a traveler in the most unusual places. At Karp godina, it is often a fusion of all of the above, carefully framed through the eyepiece of the camera within the boundaries of the static frame. As an artist he is always aesthetically perfect, subversive, but uncinical, as a humanist he is witty and consistently curious, as a craftsman he is a master, and as a man he is always committed to exploring and admiring the world that surrounds him.
Opus Karpa Godine jasno opredeljuje formalna determinanta – ki je tudi osrednje tkivo pričujoče razstave –, h kateri se kot avtor nenehno vrača. Gre za estetiko živih slik v prepletu z redko sposobnostjo ugledati presežno v banalnosti vsakdana. To presežno je včasih lahko kritično prepoznanje kontradikcij družbenega ustroja, lahko je prepoznanje sublimne lepote ali pa preprosto kanaliziranje radostne fascinacije in naklonjenosti do sočloveka, ki ga kot popotnik sreča na najbolj nenavadnih mestih. Pri Karpu Godini gre pogosto za spoj vsega naštetega, skrbno uokvirjenega skozi okular kamere znotraj meja statičnega kadra.
