ABOUT THE CRACK FESTIVAL
This autumn, with an expanded program and in-depth insights, the crack festival, the first Slovenian festival of renewal and sustainable living, returns.
The crack Festival is for everyone who is looking forward to old houses and new ideas. It continues and disseminates the ideas that have been represented since 2021 by the meeting point for renovation and sustainable living .
The crack Festival is not a niche festival. The integration of heritage into contemporary everyday life is not only a secondary interest of a few individuals, but also an ecological and social necessity and one of the vital elements of full-blooded human existence in the world. Therefore, he expands the spectrum of the meaning of renovation and tries to understand it in the broadest sense: as a comprehensive practice between art, theory, architecture, nature conservation, legislation and the economy.

First day of the Central program
12: 00 workshop: palimpsest tablecloth
we will make a community tablecloth from old kitchen cloths, which we will print using the screen printing technique with slogans and motifs on the theme of ‘lesser evil’. For one evening, the tablecloth will become the venue for the crack Festival dinner, at which we will share thoughts, wishes and bites. The next day, we will again divide the tablecloth into smaller pieces and send them to the world, where they will live a new life forever changed.

16: 00 3 / good renovation
Presentations of three examples of good practice that have been carried out in Slovenia in recent years. The authors talk about the situation before and after, about the renovation process and about the relationship investor-architect-conservator-local community. The presentations are followed by a short discussion.
Presented examples: junction of cultures Libertas (ARP), Presern homestead in Vrba (Atelje Ostan Pavlin), Cultural Centre in Stara Fuzina (OFIS)
18: 00 Victor Bo Jul-Jul-Jul: cultivating what is at hand
Lecture
Victor Bo Iqce Juleb Iqkk, architect and Doctor of science, is an associate professor and head of the master's program "cultural heritage, transformation and conservation" at the Institute of architecture and culture of the Danish Royal Academy. Through research and teaching, Victor deals with material practices, cultures and ecologies of Architecture from both a theoretical and practical, applied point of view. Research work is carried out within the Center for sustainable building culture, while teaching focuses on the architecture of transformations.

Three views, Three thoughts, one place. In short ten-minute lectures, three top interlocutors, observers and commentators of urban events will sum up their thoughts about their cities: ethnologist and anthropologist Ana svetlo, architect Matevz Chelik and artist Danilo Milovanovi/. This is followed by a brief discussion of WHO and under what conditions has access to the city and where it is possible to find one's own place under the sun.
20: 00 winter for hard times: evening snack
Pickling, fermenting, salting, boiling – a set of delicious stored foods will refresh the memory of food storage techniques that may soon be essential again to maintain strength during bad harvests.
