We will present an interesting history of the surroundings of the Arboretum with various specialists. We will take a look at the units from the Register of cultural heritage properties and attractions that are not in the register. In Wolf Creek we will stop at the museum Pr Oreshnik, at the Church in Wolf Creek and at the kushtra sign, which stands in the middle of the field along the driveway to the homestead. Then we will cycle to the Turkish caves, which were used during the Turkish invasions. The next stop is Radomeljska Mlinscica, which is one of the oldest, preserved to date mills in the area of the Gorenjska region and is 5400 meters long. We will also visit the homestead, which stands along the Old Mill path along the Mlinscica.
We will move by bike between locations, so bring your own bike or rent a KAMKOLO electric bike. You can get your bike from Ljubljana by train, get off at the Homec station. In three hours of slow cycling and with many stops, we will circle The Wolf Creek Arboretum. Guidance is free. Meet me at the entrance to the park. In case of rain, the event is canceled. Mandatory registration at prireditve@arboretum.si by Friday, 9. 5. 2025, until 12: 00. The event was created as part of the European Cultural Heritage Days with last year's thematic title heritage of cultural routes, networking and connections.
Predstavili bomo zanimivo zgodovino okolice Arboretuma z različnimi strokovnjaki. Ogledali si bomo enote iz registra nepremičnin kulturne dediščine ter zanimivosti, ki jih ni v registru. V Volčjem Potoku se bomo ustavili pri muzeju Pr Orešnik, pri cerkvi v Volčjem Potoku ter pri Kuštrovem znamenju, ki stoji sredi polja ob dovozni poti k domačiji. Nato bomo kolesarili do turških jam, ki so jih uporabljali v času turških vpadov. Naslednja postaja je Radomeljska Mlinščica, ki je ena od najstarejših, do danes ohranjenih mlinščic na območju Gorenjske regije in je dolga 5400 metrov. Ogledali si bomo tudi domačijo, ki stoji ob stari mlinski poti ob Mlinščici.
Med lokacijami se bomo premikali s kolesi, zato pripeljite svojo kolo ali si izposodite električno kolo KAMKOLO. Iz Ljubljane si kolo lahko pripeljete z vlakom, izstopite na postaji Homec. V treh urah počasnega kolesarjenja in z veliko postankov bomo obkrožili Arboretum Volčji Potok. Vodenje je brezplačno. Dobimo se pri vhodu v park. V primeru dežja, dogodek odpade.
