You are invited to a conference that explores urban history as an important part of "Public History" and the forms and possibilities of its contemporary presentation.
The event is connected with the research project ARIS J6-9358 and the preparation of the Historical Atlas of the city of Ljubljana, the release of which is scheduled for 2026. The papers will discuss the history of Ljubljana and its urban development, as well as related projects that explore and present other comparable European cities such as Vienna, Bratislava, Bologna, Lu 6amutemburg, Poland, Hungary and Ireland.
Particular attention will be paid to the various forms and possibilities of communicating urban history to the public – through historical atlases, interactive web portals, GIS technologies, urban-style and so-called "time machines". The discussions will contribute to a better understanding of the practice and the challenges cities face in researching and promoting their historical heritage.
The theme is of paramount importance, as it opens up new opportunities for the development and promotion of urban tourism and cultural awareness.
We kindly invite you to join us.

Posebna pozornost bo namenjena različnim oblikam in možnostim posredovanja urbane zgodovine javnosti – preko zgodovinskih atlasov, interaktivnih spletnih portalov, GIS tehnologij, mestnih wikipedij in t. i.
