Classic fairy tale in subalpine guise with singing and dancing
Co-production with Mini Teater Ljubljana
Andrej Rozman Roza prepared a theatrical adaptation, or modern dramolet, based on the cult Grimm's tale about Janko and Metka, and although "the title is the same, the story is the same, the heroes are the same, nevertheless everything is different in our play".
Janko and Metka find themselves in a series of difficult trials, facing hunger, poverty, an evil stepmother, but as long as there is a loving father next to them, everything is bearable. But when the stepmother decides that there is no longer enough food for everyone in the house, the children must train in survival strategies; they are thrown out of the shelter of their home into the space of an unknown and vast dark forest, where they eventually find hope in a beautiful delicious sugar house. But the Sweet Temptation hides a" witch " surprise in the image of the cannibal aunt Zheralda. With cunning, courage and ingenuity, they also defeat the Witch and, enriched by lifelong experience, enter the world of adulthood. Only a path through a cruel and dangerous initiation passage can strengthen them and prepare them for a new stage of life.
Director Robert Modulaltl, actor, director, puppeteer and artistic director of the Mini Teater, set the production as a musical and dance-theatre fairy tale for children over four years old and set it in Alpine Slovenia. In accordance with the Performance Concept, the show is dominated by the bouncy and dynamic folk music of Slavko Avsenik Jr., which also coincides with the richly crafted costume design, derived from the authorically updated national costume (Ane Savi / Gecan). A colorful scene with large movable scenery, some oversized props and other scenic elements creates the impression of various fairy-tale spaces. The theatrical fairy tale with singing, dancing and an excellent cast has fascinated children since 2010 and has produced almost 180 repetitions in ten years. Petra Vidali wrote in the evening's review of the Alpine ski jump that this is a story about "how it is possible to survive dangerous parents, dangerous wild beasts and cannibals and even laugh at it".
The revival premiere with a new cast (Where Actors of the younger generation will try on the roles of Janka and Metka) is suitable for new generations of children over five years old.

Klasična pravljica v podalpski preobleki s petjem in plesom
Koprodukcija z Mini teatrom Ljubljana
A sladka skušnjava skriva »čarovniško« presenečenje v podobi ljudožerske tete Žeralde.
Barvita scena z velikimi premičnimi kulisami, nekaterimi predimenzioniranimi rekviziti in drugimi scenskimi elementi ustvarja vtis različnih pravljičnih prostorov.
