At the premiere of the production, Pavel Pol Infuck wrote: "Janko and Metka , the fairy tale of Jacob and The Grimm, belongs indisputably to the treasury of world renown. Along with Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White and Cinderella, this is one of the first fairy tales that children encounter. The story of a brother and sister who get lost in a dark forest and find themselves in front of the House of an evil witch is one of the first scary children's stories. At a time when children, especially through television, involuntarily consume a large amount of aggressive images and stories, we will conjure up a world in the puppet theater where goodness and love are the great winners."
The staging of Janko and Metko as a classic timeless puppet show has been pleasing many generations for almost two decades, and in the 2017/2018 season it has already experienced two hundred repetitions.
Ob premieri uprizoritve je Pavel Polák zapisal: " Janko in Metka , pravljica Jakoba in Wilhelma Grimma, nesporno sodi v zakladnico svetovnega slovesa. Ob Rdeči Kapici , Sneguljčici in Pepelki je to ena prvih pravljic, s katero se srečajo otroci. Zgodba bratca in sestrice, ki se izgubita v temnem gozdu in se znajdeta pred hišico hudobne čarovnice, je ena prvih strašljivih otroških zgodb. V času, ko otroci predvsem preko televizije nehote zaužijejo veliko mero agresivnih podob in zgodb, bomo v lutkovnem gledališču pričarali svet, kjer sta veliki zmagovalki dobrota in ljubezen."
Uprizoritev Janko in Metka kot klasična brezčasna lutkovna predstava že skoraj dve desetletji razveseljuje številne generacije, v sezoni 2017/2018 pa je doživela že dvestoto ponovitev.
