Alienated from his parents, but reconciled with himself, he lives contentedly in a sanatorium in the middle of a beautiful park, cherishes his voice and plans singing tours around the world. His closest friend is a boy who is white, but is firmly convinced that he is black. Together they try to save an exotic plant that has found itself in a hostile environment of native vegetation. The unhappy parents regularly come to visit, but they are increasingly saddened to realize that they are clearly not going to get their son back. They ask many questions about their own lives. The psychiatrist with whom they talk is also a striking personality, among other things, she has a habit of driving a car in such a way that it never brakes, and in her lecture she offers a completely new and interesting look at the tale of Cinderella.
Odtujen od staršev, a pomirjen sam s sabo, zadovoljno živi v sanatoriju sredi čudovitega parka, neguje svoj glas in načrtuje pevske turneje po svetu. Njegov najtesnejši prijatelj je fant, ki je belec, a je trdno prepričan, da je temnopolt. Skupaj poskušata rešiti eksotično rastlino, ki se je znašla v sovražnem okolju domorodnega rastlinja. Nesrečna starša redno prihajata na obisk, a vse bolj užaloščena spoznavata, da sina očitno ne bosta dobila nazaj. Ob tem si postavljata številna vprašanja o lastnem življenju.
