We are pleased to announce the opening of the Moving Balkans festival , which will take place on the 10th. in May 2025 at 20. hours at the center of culture Spanish fighters. This is the first major public event of a new international platform established in 2024 with the aim of strengthening, presenting and connecting contemporary dance in the Balkans.
The moving Balkans SHO Contactcase offers a carefully curated programme of ten diverse performances, from intimate to spectacular, as well as dance Scape presentation sessions, which, through a conversation with artists, offer a unique insight into the vibrant and dynamic dance events in the region. After the opening performance, a masterpiece for six dancers follows a gathering at the gallery Internacionala.
The Moving Balkans platform brings together dance professionals from the Balkan region and strives for greater visibility and competitive positioning of contemporary dance in the European Space. Through an extensive network of partners, regional festivals, artistic collaborations, workshops, mobility programs and capacity building activities, it contributes to the development of a vibrant dance landscape.
Among the partners are Albania Dance Meeting (AL), Art Link Foundation (BG), Contemporar Entertainment Dance Association Slovenia (SI), Croatian Cultural Center Rijeka (HR), Croatian Institute for Movement and Dance (HR), DAN.C. CE UNITIVA (GR), EN–KNAP Productions (SI), Interart Culture Center (MK), Kino bangs Centre for Urban Culture (SI), the National Center for Dance Bucharest (RO) and Students’ Cultural Center Novi Sad (RS).

Z veseljem napovedujemo otvoritev festivala Moving Balkans , ki bo potekala 10. maja 2025 ob 20. uri v Centru kulture Španski borci. Gre za prvi večji javni dogodek nove mednarodne platforme, vzpostavljene leta 2024 z namenom okrepitve, predstavitve in povezovanja sodobnega plesa na območju Balkana.
Moving Balkans Showcase prinaša skrbno kuriran program desetih raznolikih predstav, od intimnih do spektakularnih, ter predstavitvene seje Dance Scape, ki skozi pogovor z umetniki ponujajo edinstven vpogled v živahno in dinamično plesno dogajanje v regiji. Po otvoritveni predstavi Mojstrovina za šest plesalcev sledi druženje v Galeriji Internacionala.
Platforma Moving Balkans združuje plesne strokovnjake iz balkanske regije in si prizadeva za večjo prepoznavnost ter konkurenčno umeščenost sodobnega plesa v evropski prostor. Z obsežno mrežo partnerjev, regionalnimi festivali, umetniškimi sodelovanji, delavnicami, mobilnostnimi programi in dejavnostmi za krepitev kapacitet prispeva k razvoju živahne plesne krajine.
