Five years after that, when the comet Clarke nearly destroyed the Earth, the family of the Garrity is still alive in the bunker, on Greenland. The world outside is shattered, and life underground is becoming unbearable – especially for Nathan, now a teenager who wants to see sunlight and freedom. As family tensions escalate, John and Allison make a difficult decision: to leave the security of the bunker and make their way through a devastated, dangerous Europe in search of a new home.
