The last subscription concert will be entirely dedicated to one of the strongest and most delicate sacral masterpieces of the baroque – the Stabat Mater of Giovanni Battista Pergolesi. For more than three centuries, this remarkable work, created in the last months of Pergolesi's short life, has inspired and shocked listeners with its deep emotional expressiveness, melodic beauty and touching request from Mary under the cross. It was first issued in London 1749 and became the most frequently issued track in the 18th. century. It also underwent several treatments, among others by J. S. Bach in his time. This time Pergolesi's creation will come to life in a special adaptation by Andrej Omejec. The saxophone quartet arrangement brings a completely fresh, color-rich sound image that retains original expressive depth, while bringing a subtly modern sound approach.
The special charm of the concert will be given by the combination of the rich, warm sonority of the saxophone quartet Ensemble 4sa amuctess and the exceptional vocal interpretation of two renowned soloists – Mojca Bitenc Krizaj and Mateja Potocnik . Their expressive power and emotional depth, together with saxophones, will create a unique, intimate and intensely experienced concert experience that will mark the end of the subscription season.

Zadnji abonmajski koncert bo v celoti posvečen eni najmočnejših in najganljivejših sakralnih mojstrovin baroka – Stabat Mater Giovannija Battiste Pergolesija. To izjemno delo, nastalo v zadnjih mesecih Pergolesijevega kratkega življenja, že več kot tri stoletja navdihuje in pretresa poslušalce s svojo globoko čustveno izraznostjo, melodično lepoto ter ganljivo prošnjo Marije pod križem. Prvič je bilo izdano v Londonu 1749 in je postalo najpogosteje izdana skladba v 18. stoletju. Doživela je tudi več obdelav, med drugimi jo je v svojem času priredil J. S. Bach. Tokrat bo Pergolesijeva stvaritev zaživela v posebni priredbi Andreja Omejca. Priredba za saksofonski kvartet prinaša povsem svežo, barvno bogato zvočno podobo, ki ohranja izvirno izrazno globino, hkrati pa prinaša subtilno sodoben zvočni pristop.
Poseben čar koncertu bo tako dal preplet bogate, tople zvočnosti saksofonskega kvarteta Ensemble 4Saxess in izjemne vokalne interpretacije dveh priznanih solistk – Mojce Bitenc Križaj in Mateje Potočnik . Njuna izrazna moč in čustvena globina bosta skupaj s saksofoni ustvarila edinstveno, intimno in močno doživeto koncertno izkušnjo, ki bo zaznamovala konec abonmajske sezone.
