On the occasion of the International geopestros day, which is dedicated to raising the awareness of society about the importance of the diversity of geological, geomorphological and hydrological forms and processes, and thus the preservation of geological, geomorphological and hydrological natural heritage, we invite you to a lecture Geoparki, an important player in the protection of geopestrosti.
The memory of the Earth is written in rocks, fossils and landscape, and it is our obligation to preserve and honor it. 241 Geoparks are included in the UNESCO programme, in Slovenia there are Karavanke and Idrija, the third in the karst is being established. Each geopark connects natural and cultural heritage with the local community in a unique way. We will also meet some of them in the lecture.
Lecturer Martina Stupar from the Institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Nature Conservation participated in the establishment of the Geoparks Idrija and Kras Carso and as the National Coordinator of ProGEO is responsible for the promotion of the international geopestness day in Slovenia.

Ob Mednarodnem dnevu geopestrosti, ki je posvečen ozaveščanju družbe o pomenu pestrosti geoloških, geomorfoloških in hidroloških oblik in procesov, s tem pa tudi ohranjanju geološke, geomorfološke in hidrološke naravne dediščine, vas vabimo na predavanje Geoparki, pomemben akter varstva geopestrosti.
Spomin Zemlje je zapisan v kamninah, fosilih in pokrajini, naša obveza pa je, da ga ohranjamo in spoštujemo. V Unescov program je vključenih 241 geoparkov, v Sloveniji sta Karavanke in Idrija, tretji na Krasu se ustanavlja. Vsak geopark na edinstven način povezuje naravno in kulturno dediščino z lokalno skupnostjo. Nekatere bomo na predavanju tudi spoznali.
Predavateljica Martina Stupar z Zavoda RS za varstvo narave je sodelovala pri ustanavljanju geoparkov Idrija in Kras Carso ter kot nacionalna koordinatorka ProGEO skrbi za promocijo mednarodnega dneva geopestrosti v Sloveniji.
