During the three days of the festival, Slovenian and foreign national and entertainment ensembles sing in an event tent in the middle of Begunj in Gorenjska. The accompanying program offers content with themes of folk music and local crafts. It is available not only to visitors with tickets, but also to everyone else.
Begunje is the birthplace of the Avsenik brothers, who marked the Slovenian and Central European regions with their music. Fans of folk entertainment come to Begunje for concerts and tours of the museum, and every other year for the Avsenik Festival.

V treh festivalskih dneh v prireditvenem šotoru sredi Begunj na Gorenjskem prepevajo slovenski in tuji narodno-zabavni ansambli. Spremljevalni program ponuja vsebine s tematiko narodno-zabavne glasbe in domače obrti. Na voljo je ne le obiskovalcem z vstopnicami, temveč tudi vsem ostalim.
Begunje so rojstni kraj bratov Avsenik, ki sta z glasbo močno zaznamovala slovenski in srednjeevropski prostor. Oboževalci narodno-zabavnih viž prihajajo v Begunje na koncerte in na ogled muzeja, vsako drugo leto pa na Festival Avsenik.
