culture exhibition

Academic sculptor and academician Drago Trsar is significantly recorded in the patrimony of Slovenian sculpture. His outstanding works, from monumental public sculpture to small plastics, can be found in all 20 overview publications of Slovenian fine art. century, but he is also recognizable for his works in many other art media. Drago Trsar was also a long-time professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana. In 2017, on the occasion of the author's high Jubilee and on the occasion of the initiative of Moderna Galerija, the Bozidar Jakac Gallery joined an interinstitutional project entitled: Monument – Drago Trsar. A wide - ranging and in-depth professional treatment of the author's oeuvre by seven Museum and gallery institutions resulted in a series of exhibitions throughout Slovenia between 2017 and 2019, when the project is being completed in Kostanjevica na Krki.

The first exhibition at the gallery of the Preserna prize winners for Fine Arts Kranj (25. 4. – 3. 6. 2017) was transparent in nature, in the gallery Murska Sobota (8. 3. – 16. 6. 2018) focused on the author's works on Japanese paper, followed by a central overview exhibition of monumental sculpture at the Moderna Galerija, subtitled monumentality and the crowd (14. 6. – 30. 9. 2018). Exhibition at City Gallery Piran, exhibition centre of Coastal galleries Piran (6. 7. – 26. 8. 2018) and in the City Gallery of the Museum and galleries of the city of Ljubljana (22. 11. 2018 – 20. 1. 2019) highlighted the author's two motive cycles, the sea and eroticism. Exhibition at the Carinthian gallery of Fine Arts (23. 11. 2018 – 20. 1. 2019), unlike other exhibitions, she devoted herself to a broader thematization of monuments and sculptures in the public space, focusing on the works of Drago Trsar and their interpretation through the eyes of two contemporaries.

The installation in the Bozidar Jakac gallery, as the last in a series, consists of a combination of works from all creative periods selected by the author, with the installation in six rooms of the gallery's exhibition area focusing on small-format plastics in bronze, plaster and ceramics.

– 30. 9. 2018). Razstavi v Mestni galeriji Piran, razstavišču Obalnih galerij Piran (6. 7. – 26. 8. 2018) in v Mestni galeriji Muzeja in galerij mesta Ljubljana (22. 11. 2018 – 20. 1. 2019) sta izpostavili dva avtorjeva motivna cikla, morje in erotiko.
