On the remote island of gumpcev, where Vikings and Dragons have been bitter enemies for generations, the young Viking Viki (portrayed by Mason Thames) is different from others. The resourceful but overlooked son of Chief stoic Silny (Gerard Butler reprising his role from the animated franchise) defies centuries-old tradition by befriending the Dragon of Night Fury. Their incredible bond reveals the true nature of dragons and challenges the foundations of Viking society.
With a belligerent and ambitious friend Astrid (BAFTA Award nominee Nico Parker) and a wacky village blacksmith spitter (Nick Frost) standing by his side, Viki faces a world torn apart by fear and misunderstanding.
However, when an ancient threat appears that threatens both Vikings and Dragons, Viki's friendship with Night rage becomes the key to shaping a new future. Together they must navigate the tricky path to peace, rise beyond the boundaries of their worlds and redefine what it means to be a hero and a leader.
