11 years of unruly female rock!
For the eleventh year, International Women's day has been dedicated to the achievements of women in (rock) music in Ljubljana. Rock Women's day on the big stage of Orto bar presents artists who present their works of authorship and energy in rock music of a wider spectrum.
So far, the event has already featured world-famous names such as Nervosa, Nemesis, Agon documentary, and hosts the Slovenian heavy rock Champions Hellcats every year, and in 2015 they are also credited with the first performance of the festival. Sisters Sasha and Sonja Zagorc, the founders and driving force of the first Slovenian all-female metal/rock band, wanted to offer younger and well-established bands a place to create, because they know firsthand how difficult it is to succeed in the music industry, which often expects women to enjoy visual appeal rather than creativity.
Their vision was clear: to create a place where women musicians get the visibility, support and stage they deserve – and thus open the doors to future generations of women artists. It is not difficult to find singers with male accompaniment, but with all-female groups the matter is much more difficult and so they are all the more happy to be contacted by girls from all over the world, as the festival is well known in these circles, and they want to perform in Ljubljana. For many groups, the festival was a springboard for later successful performances at home and abroad.
Rock Women's day is not just a concert – it is a movement, it is a holiday and is a loud tribute to women who are paving their way in music.
Performing 2026

Young Pula female grunge / metal band (2024) with distortion, violent rhythm and energy. They have performed on Supervalo, Pula guitar, and as a front for Rosalie Cunningham.
* Hellfo mod (Bergamo, it
Hellfo video is an exclusively female metal band from Lombardy (Italy) that plays metal at the intersection of old school and modern sound. The duality is evident both in the compositions, where the two vocals complement each other in contrast and blend into the whole at the same time, and in the synth lines, which stand in contrast with the heavy instrumental parts.
In the world of darker metal, with the last released album, they are gaining more and more validity and respect, which is also reflected in the increasing number of performances. They will present material from their two albums, The Last of which was released in 2025.

The hosts of the evening are returning to their home stage after large – scale European tours – from Modulales and Scotland to Finland and even Algeria. This time with a new little disc Unstoppable and songs played in Slovenian.
Tickets for ROCK women'S day 2026 will go on sale from Friday, 9. in January 2026.

The regular ticket price will be 15 / on the day of the concert and 13 / on pre-sale.

11 let neukrotljivega ženskega rocka!
Mednarodni dan žena se v Ljubljani že enajsto leto posveča dosežkom žensk v (rock) glasbi. Dan Rock Žena na velikem odru Orto bara takrat predstavi ustvarjalke, ki predstavljajo svoja avtorska dela in energijo v rock glasbi širšega spektra.
Do sedaj so na dogodku nastopila že svetovno znana imena kot so Nervosa, Nemesis, Agony, gostiteljice pa so vsako leto slovenske prvakinje težkega rocka Hellcats, leta 2015 tudi zaslužne za prvo izvedbo festivala. Sestri Saša in Sonja Zagorc, ustanoviteljici in gonilni sili prve slovenske vse-ženske metal/rock skupine sta želeli mlajšim in tudi uveljavljenim skupinam ponuditi prostor za ustvarjanje, saj s prve roke vesta kako težko je uspeti v glasbeni industriji, ki od žensk pogosto pričakuje predvsem vizualno všečnost, ne pa toliko ustvarjalnosti.
Njuna vizija je bila jasna: ustvariti prostor, kjer dobijo glasbenice opaznost, podporo in oder, ki si ga zaslužijo – ter s tem odpreti vrata prihodnjim generacijam ustvarjalk. Pevk z moško spremljavo ni težko najti, zato pa je pri vse-ženskih skupinah zadeva precej težja in tako so še toliko bolj vesele, da jih kontaktirajo punce s celega sveta, saj je festival v teh krogih dobro poznan, in si želijo nastopa v Ljubljani. Marsikateri skupini je festival pomenil odskočno desko za kasnejše uspešne nastope doma in v tujini.
Dan Rock Žena ni le koncert – je gibanje, je praznik in je glasen poklon ženskam, ki si v glasbi utirajo svojo pot.
Nastopajoče 2026
• Out of Civilisation (Pula, HR)
Mlad puljski ženski grunge/metal bend (2024) z distorzijo, silovitim ritmom in energijo. Nastopale so na Supervalu, Gitarijadi Pula in kot predskupina Rosalie Cunningham.
• Hellfox (Bergamo, IT)
Hellfox je izključno ženska metal zasedba iz Lombardije (Italija), ki igra metal na stičišču stare šole in sodobnega zvoka. Dvojnost je očitna tako v skladbah, kjer se dva vokala med seboj kontrastno dopolnjujeta in se hkrati zlijeta v celoto, kot tudi v sintetičnih linijah, ki stojijo v kontrastu s težkimi instrumentalnimi deli.
V svetu temnejšega metala z zadnjim izdanim albumom pridobivajo vedno več veljave in spoštovanja, kar se odraža tudi na vse večjem številu nastopov. Predstavile bodo material s svojih dveh albumov, zadnjega so izdale 2025.
• HELLCATS (SI)
Gostiteljice večera se po obsežnih evropskih turnejah – od Walesa in Škotske do Finske in celo Alžirije – vračajo na domači oder. Tokrat z novo malo ploščo Unstoppable in skladbami, odigranimi v slovenskem jeziku.
