Give me the floor is a musical and poetic performance that brings to life The Poetry of Happy Kosovel in a modern way. The performance is produced under the artistic direction of director Yasha Koceli, who and his team create projects in many European countries and develop a recognizable, ritual-based stage language.
In the center of the performance is the poet (Yasha Savnik) as a living stage figure — a body looking for language, which disintegrates and reassembles before the eyes of the audience. Kosovel's poetry is not interpreted illustratively, but embodied through voice, movement and space.
In collaboration with the duo breakfast, the poetry is re-set to music. Their musical language — between chanson, ethno, cabaret and intimate social irony — opens a direct dialogue with the word. Together with the composer Miho Petric, they create an original musical image in which poetry becomes a song: modern, rhythmic and surprisingly current.
The spatial and artistic image of the performance is designed by set designer Darjan Mihajlovi / Cerar, costume designer Jelena Prokovi/, choreographer Tajda Podobnik and lighting designer David A. Franck/. The stage is designed as a sculpture of light, shadow and moving image, emphasizing the presence of body and word, creating an atmosphere of intimate but intense shared experience.
The performance lasts about 60 Minutes and combines poetry, live music and video into a concert-theater event, suitable for theater stages and festival formats of various sizes.
Give me the word offers a modern view of Kosovel as a poet who still speaks to our time — directly, vulnerable and with urgency.
Daj mi besedo je glasbeno-poetična uprizoritev, ki na sodoben način oživlja poezijo Srečka Kosovela. Predstava nastaja pod umetniškim vodstvom režiserja Jaše Kocelija, ki s svojo ekipo ustvarja projekte v številnih evropskih državah in razvija prepoznaven, ritualno zasnovan scenski jezik.
V središču uprizoritve je pesnik (Jaša Savnik) kot živa odrska figura — telo, ki išče jezik, ki razpada in se znova sestavlja pred očmi občinstva. Kosovelova poezija ni interpretirana ilustrativno, temveč utelešena skozi glas, gib in prostor.
V sodelovanju z duetom Zajtrk je poezija na novo uglasbena. Njuna glasbena govorica — med šansonom, etnom, kabarejem in intimno družbeno ironijo — odpira neposreden dialog z besedo. Skupaj s skladateljem Miho Petricem ustvarjajo izvirno glasbeno podobo, v kateri poezija postane pesem: sodobna, ritmična in presenetljivo aktualna.
Prostorsko in likovno podobo predstave oblikujejo scenograf Darjan Mihajlović Cerar, kostumografinja Jelena Proković, koreografinja Tajda Podobnik in oblikovalec svetlobe David A. Francky. Oder je zasnovan kot skulptura svetlobe, sence in gibljive slike, ki poudarja prisotnost telesa in besede ter ustvarja atmosfero intimnega, a intenzivnega skupnega doživetja.
Predstava traja približno 60 minut in združuje poezijo, živo glasbo ter video v koncertno-gledališki dogodek, primeren za gledališke odre in festivalske formate različnih velikosti.
