Costumes can also be love letters. With her sketches and stage creations, Cveta Mirnik (1951-2021) breathed emotions, identity and story into the characters.
At the exhibition, which is created in cooperation with styles and partners from Zhalec, you will find a visual ode to love for theater, for Man and for creativity. Her love for the theater and dedication to creation are also revealed by costume sketches that did not come to life on stage.
During the period of her life, when she did not work for the theater, she chose dramatic plays for herself and drew costume drafts for them. She received two Maribor Theatre Awards for her costume work at the central Slovenian Theatre Festival in Maribor. As a practical costume designer, she "exhibited" her works on stage, while she presented her costume sketches at a few solo exhibitions and at important overview exhibitions of theatre scenography and costume design at home and abroad. The exhibition is part of an interinstitutional project in which the Institute for Culture, Sport and tourism Zalec and the intercommunal General Library Zalec cooperate with the Slovenian Theatre Institute.
Kostumi so lahko tudi ljubezenska pisma. Cveta Mirnik (1951–2021) je s svojimi skicami in odrskimi stvaritvami likom vdihnila čustva, identiteto in zgodbo.
Na razstavi, ki nastaja v sodelovanju s SLOGI in partnerji iz Žalca, vas čaka vizualna oda ljubezni do gledališča, do človeka in do ustvarjalnosti. Njeno ljubezen do gledališča in predanost ustvarjanju razodevajo tudi kostumografske skice, ki niso zaživele na odru.
V življenjskem obdobju, ko ni delala za gledališče, si je izbrala dramske igre in zanje izrisala kostumografske osnutke. Za kostumografsko delo je prejela dve Borštnikovi nagradi na osrednjem slovenskem gledališkem festivalu v Mariboru. Kot praktična kostumografka je svoja dela »razstavljala« na odru, medtem ko je kostumografske skice predstavila na nekaj samostojnih razstavah ter na pomembnih preglednih razstavah gledališke scenografije in kostumografije doma in v tujini. Razstava je del medinstitucionalnega projekta, pri katerem s Slovenskim gledališkim inštitutom sodelujeta še Zavod za kulturo, šport in turizem Žalec in Medobčinska splošna knjižnica Žalec.
