Under today's Celje, the remains of Roman Celea are hidden in archaeological layers almost four meters thick. It was the exceptional thickness of these layers that allowed the excellent preservation of both architectural remains and many small finds.
Monumental public buildings, wide cobbled city streets surrounded by colonnades, a huge forum paved with marble, mighty late Roman walls and numerous mosaics and luxurious wall paintings draw the image of a rich, well-groomed and vibrant city. This painting is complemented by numerous small finds – ceramics, costume pieces, everyday utilitarian objects, coins, fragments of supernatural – sized bronze and marble statues, inscriptions on marble monuments, and stone architectural articles-which provide an in-depth insight into the lives of the inhabitants of this prosperous Roman city.
After graduating from the first Gymnasium in Celje in 1996, Dr. Jure Krajsek enrolled in the study of Archaeology at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana and successfully completed it in 2003. Since 2008 he has been working as a curator for Roman Archaeology and Epigraphy at the Regional Museum Celje. In 2016 he received his PhD from the University of Ljubljana. He has participated and led numerous research in Celje and participated in the preparation of several exhibitions and presentations. From elementary school onwards and throughout his studies, he participated in numerous archaeological research in Slovenia and abroad, gaining many field experiences. In recent years, he has been mostly engaged in research and the study of Roman Celea.
Leadership lasts CA. 60 Minutes. After a short introduction to the exhibition, the curators specifically highlight the selected topics.

Monumentalne javne stavbe, široke tlakovane mestne ulice, obdane s stebrišči, ogromen forum, tlakovan z marmorjem, mogočno poznorimsko obzidje ter številni mozaiki in razkošne stenske poslikave rišejo podobo bogatega, urejenega in živahnega mesta.
Vodstvo traja ok. 60 minut. Po krajšem uvodu v razstavo kustosi posebej osvetlijo izbrane teme.
