The Opera tells The Story of C Animalline Arnauld, a Romanian Jewish emigrant who left home as Carolina Goldstein. In 1920, she became famous as the only woman in the circle of the Dadaist movement in Paris. Her unique 12 collections of poetry enriched the literary pantheon of that time. Caktline Arnauld is also the author of a number of Dadaist pamphlets, "manifestos", and radio broadcasts that were central to the Dadaist movement and its influence. Between the two world wars, she lived and worked in Paris, speaking and writing French as if it were her native language. When her husband, poet Paul Derm Alterte, died of cancer, she committed suicide shortly thereafter. It was 1952, she ran out of money, and she felt that she was "erased" from history ... on top of that, she saw herself not as a Dadaist poet, but as a "lyrical modernist". She felt pushed away (emigrant, woman, Jewish), and in anthologies and textbooks she was almost always listed as "C'aculline Arnauld – see under Paul dermal example". She blurted out to her compatriot Tristan Tzara (self – proclaimed "Dadaist father") that her books were "there and will defend themselves" - but whether this is true, we will see a hundred years later.

CÉLINE, monopera

Avtor: Richard Harvey

Solistka: Gloria Tronel
