BIO27 accompanying programme BIO27 Spremljevalni program

culture exhibition

Supervernacular, the theme of the BIO27 Biennial of design, explores a growing and ambitious movement that draws inspiration from the traditions and practices of vernacular design from around the world with the aim of shaping a radical vision for a more responsive and resilient future. In addition to the main exhibition at the Museum of architecture and design and other production projects in the city center , as part of the accompanying program, we will present three different international design exhibitions, which aim to further explore and confront the industrial and technocentric with alternative narratives and mythologies.
In order to bring together in one place practitioners and thinkers who challenge value systems and our conventional understanding of linear production and the relationship we have with the fleeting present and the unknown future, we have selected projects from Austria, Germany and Poland, which are the work of both established artists, designers and design collectives, as well as those who are just establishing themselves. All of them create connections based on broader cultural and social discussions.
Each project invites visitors to explore important topics, such as the food industry and rethinking our eating habits and the production of materials, as well as a poetic and scientific investigation of the dialogue between humans and nature. Focusing on values in today's society and recognizing the need for change, these exhibitions are inspiring starting points that pave the way for a sustainable revolution:
DNA of things (Marcin Rusak)
The ideal eating experience (Kathrina Dankl in collaboration with Vienna Design Animveek, Vienna Business Agency / Austrian Cultural Forum)
The school of The Untold (Design Campus in collaboration with German Design Graduates and the Goethe-Institut )

DNK stvari / DNA of Things (Marcin Rusak)
Idealna izkušnja prehranjevanja / The Ideal Eating Experience (Kathrina Dankl v sodelovanju z Vienna Design Week, Vienna Business Agency in Avstrijskim kulturnim forumom)
Šola neizrečenega / The School of the Untold (Design Campus v sodelovanju z German Design Graduates in Goethe-Institutom )
