You are invited to talk on the occasion of the publication of the translation of the book code: from information theory to the French theory of the historian of technology and media theorist from the University of G Animteborg Bernard D. Geoghegan, which will take place on the 4th. March at 17 am in the academic reading room of ales Debeljak at FDV.
The code is not just a book about how he was the emergence of the t. i. the theory is closely connected to the povojnim the funding, which is the basic tendency is to be tehnokratsko and cyber solutions to problems, but also about how alone cybernetics, in its beginnings were not of a "mere" thing, the engineers, and mathematicians, it was Norbert Wiener, but also to anthropologists, linguistic perspective, and psychiatrists (Mead, Bateson, Jakobson, McCulloch, etc).
The discussion on the book and related topics will take place – in the spirit of the written Society of Mac Entertainment conferences – :
- Suzana Koncut, translator of key French theory and fiction (L'amutvi-Strauss, Barthes, Deleuze, Perec, the new novel, The New new novel, etc.) and the Code-closely intertwined novel The Seventh Function of Laurent Binet's language;
Prof. Dr. Simon Dobrisek from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and head of the local laboratory for machine intelligence;
Prof. Dr. Miran Mozhina, psychiatrist, systemic psychotherapist and director of the Ljubljana branch of the Sigmund Freud University from Vienna;
- in the name of a renewed rapprochement between the social sciences and the humanities and the potential beginnings of a new science about man, as well as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Natalya Majsova with FDV and Assoc. Prof. dr. Kelly with FF.
The conversation will be connected by Marko Bauer, co-editor of the book collection exits (Sophia), within the framework of which the code was published, and the translator of the book.

Vabljeni na pogovor ob izidu pravkar izdanega prevoda knjige Koda: od teorije informacij do francoske teorije zgodovinarja tehnologije in medijskega teoretika z Univerze v Göteborgu Bernarda D. Geoghegana, ki bo potekal 4. marca ob 17h v Akademski čitalnici Aleša Debeljaka na FDV.
Koda ni samo knjiga o tem, kako je bil nastanek t. i. francoske teorije tesno povezan s povojnim ameriškim financiranjem, katerega osnovna težnja je bilo tehnokratsko oz. kibernetsko reševanje problemov, temveč tudi o tem, kako sama kibernetika v svojih začetkih ni bila »zgolj« stvar inženirjev in matematikov, kot je bil Norbert Wiener, temveč tudi antropologov, jezikoslovcev in psihiatrov (Mead, Bateson, Jakobson, McCulloch itd.).
Na pogovoru o knjigi in z njo povezanimi temami bodo – v duhu pisane druščine Macyjevih konferenc – sodelovali:
– Suzana Koncut, prevajalka ključne francoske teorije in fikcije (Lévi-Strauss, Barthes, Deleuze, Perec, novi roman, novi novi roman itd.) ter s Kodo tesno prepletenega romana Sedma funkcija jezika Laurenta Bineta;
– prof. dr. Simon Dobrišek s Fakultete za elektrotehniko in predstojnik tamkajšnjega Laboratorija za strojno inteligenco;
– prof. dr. Miran Možina, psihiater, sistemski psihoterapevt in direktor ljubljanske podružnice Univerze Sigmunda Freuda z Dunaja;
– v imenu ponovnega zbliževanja med družboslovjem in humanistiko ter potencialnih zametkov neke nove znanosti o človeku pa tudi izr. prof. dr. Natalija Majsova s FDV in izr. prof. dr. Primož Krašovec s FF.
Pogovor bo povezoval Marko Bauer, so-urednik knjižne zbirke Izhodi (Sophia), v okviru katere je izšla Koda, in prevajalec knjige.
