The first film by Jafar Panahi, which he personally presented in Cannes after a long-term travel ban and won the Palme d'or there with him.
Eghbal is driving a car with his spouse and daughter at night when he suddenly knocks down a dog. The accident damages the engine of the car, so he looks for the nearest car mechanic. The job is done by Vahid, a former political prisoner, who recognizes the sound of Eghbal's artificial leg. In prison, he was tortured by an intelligence agent with just such an artificial limb and caused permanent kidney damage. Vahid therefore kidnaps Eghbal and plans to bury him alive. However, doubt arises in him, he never really saw his face, so he is not sure if he really caught his executioner. He turns to his other victims to confirm his identity …

Prvi film Jafarja Panahija, ki ga je po dolgoletni prepovedi potovanja osebno predstavil v Cannesu in tam z njim osvojil zlato palmo.
Eghbal se s svojo soprogo in hčerko ponoči vozi z avtom, ko nenadoma zbije psa. Nesreča poškoduje motor avtomobila, zato poišče najbližjega avtomehanika. Delo opravi Vahid, nekdanji politični zapornik, ki prepozna zvok Eghbalove umetne noge. V zaporu ga je namreč mučil obveščevalni agent s prav takšnim umetnim udom in mu povzročil trajno okvaro ledvice. Vahid zato Eghbala ugrabi in načrtuje, da ga bo živega zakopal. Vendar se v njem pojavi dvom, nikoli ni zares videl njegovega obraza, zato ni prepričan, ali je zares ujel svojega rablja. Za potrditev identitete se obrne k njegovim drugim žrtvam …
Jafar Panahi je za film prejel zlato palmo v Cannesu. Hkrati je francoski kandidat za mednarodnega oskarja.
