Ko Bambi odrašča, sklepa prijateljstva z mnogimi gozdnimi živalmi in spozna Faline, ki bo postala njegovo dekle. Toda s prihodom jeseni Bambi osiroti, saj mu lovci mamo odvzamejo.
Takrat odkrije, da ni sam. Njegov oče, Princ, bdi nad njim in ga uči, kako se zaščititi pred nevarnostmi življenja v divjini, predvsem pa ... kako odrasti.
