We invite you to the Great Hall of UGM, where the publishing house Pivec and August Demshar, in dialogue with the backstage of modern and contemporary Slovenian art, will present Demshar's new book entitled The Last Supper at the Spekter exhibition. In a collection of short criminal Art Stories, the author intertwines the world of contemporary visual art with the violence, guilt and moral dilemmas of our time. Each story stems from a concrete work of art or conceptual practice, transforming it into a starting point for crime – or disclosure.
At the event, where dr. Tomaz Zupancic, Zala Stanonik (Pivec Publishing House), Brigita Strnad (UGM) and actor Dejan Kalan will take part, the author will reveal layers of works of art that in his stories have been transformed into scenes of crime, mystery and moral trials. The conversation will offer an in-depth insight into the interweaving of literature and visual art, where each image hides more than it seems at first glance.
This will also be the first day of sales of the new book by Demsar.

Vabimo vas v Veliko dvorano UGM, kjer bosta Založba Pivec in Avgust Demšar v dialogu z zakulisjem moderne in sodobne slovenske umetnosti na razstavi Spekter predstavila Demšarjevo novo knjigo z naslovom Zadnja večerja. V zbirki kratkih kriminalnih likovnih zgodb avtor prepleta svet sodobne vizualne umetnosti z nasiljem, krivdo in moralnimi dilemami našega časa. Vsaka zgodba izhaja iz konkretnega umetniškega dela ali konceptualne prakse ter jo preoblikuje v izhodišče za zločin – ali razkritje.
Na dogodku, kjer bodo sodelovali še dr. Tomaž Zupančič, Zala Stanonik (Založba Pivec), Brigita Strnad (UGM) in igralec Dejan Kalan, bo avtor razgrnil plasti umetniških del, ki so se v njegovih zgodbah preobrazila v prizorišča zločina, skrivnosti in moralnih preizkušenj. Pogovor bo ponudil poglobljen vpogled v preplet literature in vizualne umetnosti, kjer vsaka podoba skriva več, kot se zdi na prvi pogled.
To bo obenem tudi prvi prodajni dan nove Demšarjeve knjige.
