The confrontation between cultures, the attitude towards symbolic places, the transcending of physical and symbolic boundaries and the theme of passing from one state to another, from one form of being to another: Attraversamenti / transitions are based on these starting points.
Annibel Cunoldi Attems is active on the international art scene and has been researching the intertwining of language, space and memory through various expressive media for decades: from graphics to painting, from photography to installation.
The idea for the exhibition comes precisely from the relationship to symbolic places of passage, spaces of passage that take on a meaning that goes beyond their original function. In this sense, the space of CRE / C, located on the border between Italy and Slovenia, is an ideal venue for the artist's works.
The exhibition presents black-and-white photographs and installations that reflect on memory, places and the relationships between image, word and space. Among the central works are the one dedicated to the Old Port of Trieste, a symbol of “frozen”, changing spaces, and the installation on Anhovo, which addresses the relationship between economic development and environmental awareness through negative images and multifaceted perspectives.
Emblematic places of European history are also reinterpreted, such as the Glienicker Br Animaccke (“bridge of spies”), linked to the Cold War and today a symbol of unity, and the installation Diversit 6 , created on the occasion of the twinning between Paris and Berlin. The use of the word as a means of reflection and meaning is also a central element of the exhibition.
This is reflected in the installation Freiklang / Kontrolle / Provocation , dedicated to the contrast between freedom and control, and in a project inspired by the work of Franco Basaglia, which explores themes of identity, order and transformation through photographs and verbal fragments.
Soočenje med kulturami, odnos do simboličnih krajev, preseganje fizičnih in simboličnih meja ter tema prehajanja iz enega stanja v drugo, iz ene oblike bivanja v drugo: na teh izhodiščih temelji Attraversamenti / Prehajanja.
Annibel Cunoldi Attems je dejavna na mednarodni umetniški sceni in že desetletja raziskuje prepletanje jezika, prostora in spomina skozi različne izrazne medije: od grafike do slikarstva, od fotografije do instalacije.
Zamisel za razstavo izhaja prav iz odnosa do simboličnih krajev prehajanja, prostorov prehoda, ki dobijo pomen, ki presega njihovo prvotno funkcijo. V tem smislu je prostor CREW, ki leži na meji med Italijo in Slovenijo, idealno prizorišče za umetničina dela.
Razstava predstavlja črno-bele fotografije in instalacije, ki razmišljajo o spominu, krajih ter odnosih med podobo, besedo in prostorom. Med osrednjimi deli so tista, posvečena tržaškemu Staremu pristanišču, simbolu “zamrznjenih”, spreminjajočih se prostorov, ter instalacija o Anhovem, ki skozi negativne podobe in večplastne perspektive obravnava odnos med gospodarskim razvojem in okoljsko zavestjo.
Reinterpretirani so tudi simbolni kraji evropske zgodovine, kot je Glienicker Brücke (“Most vohunov”), povezan s hladno vojno in danes simbol enotnosti, ter instalacija Diversité , ustvarjena ob pobratenju med Parizom in Berlinom. Osrednji element razstave je tudi uporaba besede kot sredstva refleksije in pomena.
To se kaže v instalaciji Freiklang / Kontrolle / Provocation , posvečeni nasprotju med svobodo in nadzorom, ter v projektu, navdihnjenem z delom Franca Basaglie, ki skozi fotografije in besedne fragmente raziskuje teme identitete, reda in preobrazbe.
