Exhibition

Intruders uninvited to chaos is a two-part exhibition that stages the tension within the architectural, typological and socio-political confrontation between the vast former Salt warehouse on the coast of Portoroz and the Venetian Gothic palace on the main square in Koper.

What if telepathy is not science fiction, but a twinkle under the tongue – only perceived by creatures that are sensitive enough, such as octopuses and fungi? What if the Slovenian coast between Piran and Koper is already talking - through microbial layers, salt rituals and roaring logistics? The artists of the exhibition intruders uninvited into chaos draw from this tension: the longevity of petola and the speed of the port, extraterrestrial forms and ambient signals. This is not about understanding, but tuning – about listening to sculptural prosthetics intended for an unknown species, floating texts as volatile frequencies, and sound as a speculative atmosphere. The exhibition does not decode the wacky, but remains next to it. Somewhere between the Venetian palace and the Salt warehouse, the landscape begins to mutate. Remember us-hazy, reluctant, but loving. Not to master, but to maintain. Not revealed, but connected. The area does not promise clarity. It offers mess as a form of grooming. Fear is unnecessary, curiosity counts.

Andrej Shkufca (1987), with important exhibitions in the last decade, proved himself as a key figure of the Slovenian younger generation of artists. His speculative installations are not so much an object as a landscape, where he radiates a memory of the world that humans once inhabited.

Razstava
