The garden of Versailles, so much drawn into the uniqueness of its historical moment, which it made possible in the web of unique circumstances, at the same time goes back to a time that is out of time. Photos of Anna Kucan, made with the piercing eye of a landscape architect, put before us all the unusualness and magic of this object. They reveal before us the duality of this heterotopic space, its materiality and sublimity in one, its historical and transhistoric dimension, its slowed-down time, its sublimity, made for the glory of the king, but reaching beyond all domineering calculations, its illusory presence, oneiric and phantasmic, yet so very sensual and present, at the same time shrouded in fog and distinct to the place.

Versaillski vrt, tako zelo vpotegnjen v unikatnost svojega historičnega trenutka, ki ga je omogočil v spletu unikatnih okoliščin, obenem sega k času, ki je izven časa. Fotografije Ane Kučan, narejene s prodornim očesom krajinske arhitektke, postavljajo pred nas vso nenavadnost in čarobnost tega objekta. Pred nami razgrinjajo dvojnost tega heterotopičnega prostora, njegovo materialnost in sublimnost v enem, njegovo historično in transhistorično razsežnost, njegov upočasnjeni čas, njegovo sublimnost, narejeno v kraljevo slavo, a segajočo preko vseh oblastnih kalkulacij, njegovo iluzorično prezenco, onirično in fantazmatsko, a vendar tako zelo čutno in prisotno, obenem zavito v meglo in do kraja distinktno.
