The exhibition of the conflict of Tandem dilemmas, consisting of Painter Alexij Kobal and designer Manca Ahlin, will establish a holistic ambience in the space of the former monastery church and focus on universal questions about infinity and cyclicality. The joint work combines the seemingly completely different practices of the two artists into a coherent artistic whole that addresses the audience on a visual and metaphysical level.
In creating the collective work, the artists connected to the multi-layered meanings of phenomena or objects such as the M-band, torus and uroboros. With the help of these motifs and forms, they want to address by visual means some of the fundamental dilemmas of today's global civilization, such as the limits of human perception of the world, the cyclicality of history, social relations and ethical consensus, and existential questions about freedom and democracy. The history of the human species repeats itself all the time, as the world and society are constantly progressing, but at the same time they return to their own starting points again and again. Due to its specific shape, the M'ulcbius ribbon has been a unique scientific and philosophical mystery for more than a century. It conceals in itself many absurdities of Western civilization during its decline, which is directly proportional to the disintegration of a cohesive society and the replacement of social relations with transactional ones.

Razstava Navzkrižja dilem tandema, ki ga sestavljata slikar Aleksij Kobal in oblikovalka Manca Ahlin, bo v prostoru nekdanje samostanske cerkve vzpostavila celosten ambient in se osredotočila na univerzalna vprašanja o neskončnosti in cikličnosti. Skupno delo združuje na videz povsem različni praksi obeh umetnikov v koherentno likovno celoto, ki nagovarja publiko na vizualni in metafizični ravni.
Pri ustvarjanju kolektivnega dela sta se umetnika navezala na večplastne pomene pojavov oziroma objektov kot so Möbiusov trak, torus in uroboros. S pomočjo teh motivov in oblik želita z vizualnimi sredstvi nasloviti nekatere temeljne dileme današnje globalne civilizacije kot so na primer meje človeškega dojemanja sveta, cikličnost zgodovine, družbenih razmerij in etičnih konsenzov ter eksistenčna vprašanja o svobodi in demokraciji. Zgodovina človeške vrste se vseskozi ponavlja, saj svet in družba nenehno napredujeta, hkrati pa se vedno znova vračata na lastne izhodiščne točke. Möbiusov trak zaradi svoje specifične oblike že več kot stoletje predstavlja svojstveno znanstveno in filozofsko zagonetko. V sebi namreč skriva številne absurde zahodne civilizacije v času njenega zatona, ki je premo-sorazmeren z razkrajanjem kohezivne družbe in nadomeščanjem družbenih odnosov s transakcijskimi.
