Exhibitions of artistic production by young artists have flourished in the last decade and have become a well-established practice of many galleries, cultural centres and festivals. If the first exhibition was the premiere of the centre of Contemporary Arts in 2008 in Slovenia, one of the few manifestations where artists who were just completing their artistic studies and entering the art scene received a place for professional presentation, today it is only one of many who are very different in terms of curatorial approaches and scope. Its continuity and recognition are nevertheless seen as an important contribution to the following of contemporary artistic practices in our country. The group exhibition, which is prepared on the basis of a selection of artists submitted to the open call, is one of the views on the development of contemporary visual creativity and the potential it brings. At the same time, it is a symptomatic trace of the results of academic study environments and systems that are being established (or are not) within the art field. The exhibition shows us current approaches to the treatment of artistic media โ€“ which, of course, extend beyond long โ€“ established artistic practices-and tries to connect both those artists and artists who have already developed a recognizable artistic language and those who develop their practices at the end of their studies at academies. It gives the face to new generations of artists and creators, and at the same time decentralizes the possibility for their presentations in the Slovenian space.

This year at the triennial premiere we present as many as 21 works of art prepared by 24 artists. The branched field of contemporary creativity, which poses new challenges, is revealed through the demonstration of study and in-depth methods of creation in contemporary painting and sculpture, Intermedia practices, photography and animated film, performance and installation, and the works are combined with articulated message content. The unified thematic framework of the exhibition eludes, since the open call is not limited in content โ€“ the curatorial approach is therefore formed by the examination and selection of works itself-but it undoubtedly indicates a tendency to differently set relationships between the medium and the message, between the content of the work and its carrier, between the work and the artist's intimacy, between the body and space.

E alchhibitions featuring the alchork of alchoung artists have flourished over the last decade and have become a regular Fi alchvision of man's art galleries, cultural centers and festivals. While the first exhibition entitled Premiere, organised by the Centre for Contemporary Arts in 2008, was one of the few events in Slovenia that gave a platform for a professional presentation that artists who were just a their artistic studies, and entering the art scene, today it is only one of many, which are very different, and their curatorial approaches and scope. Its Continue / visibilit / are nevertheless seen as an important contribution to Ho / contemporar / artistic practices are being Follo illustrated in Slovenia. A group E alchhibition, based on a selection of artists alchhibo applied to an open call, is one alchibition of looking at the developments and the field of visual arts and the potentials it brings. At the same time, it is a symptomatic trace of the results of the academic study, environments, and systems that are being established (or not) within the art field. The exhibition presents us with the current approaches to the treatment of artistic media โ€“ which, of course, also go beyond the long-established fine art practices and seeks that connect to both those artists who have already developed a recognisable artistic language, and those who are in developing their practices at the end of their studies at the academies. Razstave umetniลกke produkcije mladih umetnic in umetnikov so se v zadnjem desetletju razmahnile in postale uteฤena praksa mnogih galerij, kulturnih centrov in festivalov. ฤŒe je bila prva razstava Premiera Centra sodobnih umetnosti leta 2008 v slovenskem prostoru ena redkih manifestacij, kjer so prostor za profesionalno predstavitev dobili umetniki in umetnice, ki so ลกele zakljuฤevali umetniลกke ลกtudije in vstopali na umetnostno prizoriลกฤe, je danes le ena od mnogih, ki so si po kuratorskih pristopih in obsegu zelo razliฤne. Njeno kontinuiteto in prepoznavnost kljub temu vidimo kot pomemben prispevek sledenju sodobnim umetniลกkim praksam pri nas. Skupinska razstava, ki jo pripravimo na podlagi izbora umetnic in umetnikov, prijavljenih na odprti poziv, je eden od pogledov na razvoj sodobne vizualne ustvarjalnosti in na potenciale, ki jih prinaลกa. Hkrati je simptomatska sled rezultatov akademskih ลกtudijskih okolij ter sistemov, ki se vzpostavljajo (ali se ne) znotraj umetnostnega polja. Razstava nam prikaลพe aktualne pristope k obravnavi umetniลกkih medijev โ€“ ti seveda segajo tudi preko dolgo uveljavljenih likovnih praks โ€“ in skuลกa povezati tako tiste umetnice in umetnike, ki so ลพe razvili prepoznaven umetniลกki jezik kot tiste, ki svoje prakse razvijajo ob koncu ลกtudija na akademijah. Obraz daje novim generacijam ustvarjalk in ustvarjalcev ter obenem decentralizira moลพnost za njihove predstavitve v slovenskem prostoru.

Letos na trienalu Premiera predstavljamo kar 21 umetniลกkih del, ki jih je pripravilo 24 umetnikov in umetnic. Razvejano polje sodobne ustvarjalnosti, ki postavlja nove izzive, razkrivajo skozi prikaz ลกtudijskih in poglobljenih metod ustvarjanja v sodobnem slikarstvu in kiparstvu, intermedijskih praksah, fotografiji in animiranem filmu, performansu in instalaciji ter dela spajajo z artikulirano sporoฤilno vsebino. Enoten tematski okvir razstave se izmika, saj odprtega poziva vsebinsko ne zamejujemo โ€“ kuratorski pristop se torej oblikuje ob samem pregledu in izboru del โ€“ nedvomno pa kaลพe na teลพnjo po drugaฤe postavljenih razmerjih med medijem in sporoฤilom, med vsebino dela in njegovim nosilcem, med delom in umetnikovo intimo, med telesom in prostorom.

Exhibitions featuring the work of young artists have flourished over the last decade and have become a regular fixture of many galleries, cultural centres and festivals. While the first exhibition entitled Premiere, organised by the Center for Contemporary Arts in 2008, was one of the few events in Slovenia that gave a platform for a professional presentation to artists who were just finishing their artistic studies and entering the art scene, today it is only one of many, which are very different in their curatorial approaches and scope. Its continuity and visibility are nevertheless seen as an important contribution to how contemporary artistic practices are being followed in Slovenia. A group exhibition, based on a selection of artists who applied to an open call, is one way of looking at the developments in the field of visual arts and the potentials it brings. At the same time, it is a symptomatic trace of the results of academic study environments and systems that are being established (or not) within the art field. The exhibition presents us with the current approaches to the treatment of artistic media โ€“ which, of course, also go beyond long-established fine art practices โ€“ and seeks to connect both those artists who have already developed a recognisable artistic language and those who are developing their practices at the end of their studies at academies. It gives a face to new generations of artists, while decentralising the possibility of their presentation within our region.

This year, the Premiere Triennial presents no less than 21 works of art by 24 artists. They reveal the evolving field of contemporary creativity, which poses new challenges, through the presentation of studied and in-depth research methods of creation in contemporary painting and sculpture, intermedia practices, photography and animated film, performance and installation, and fuse the works with an articulated meaning. A unified thematic framework for the exhibition eludes us, as the open call is not defined by its content โ€“ the curatorial approach is therefore shaped by the examination and selection of the works themselves โ€“ but it undoubtedly points to a tendency towards a different set of relations between the medium and the message, between the content of the work and its medium, between the work and the artistโ€™s intimacy, and between the body and the space.
