Presentation of the book Bishop Abraham, Lord of Los, with Helena Janezic and Agatha Pavlovec
For children 3+ and all generations
Do you know who Bishop Abraham was and what he carried in his travel bag? And how did the bishop of Loka emerge from Lonka? The picture book entitled Bishop Abraham, Lord of Los, which tells about a time more than a thousand years ago, was created by two divorcees, the author Helena Janezic and the illustrator Agata Pavlovec. At the Reading Room, they will tell the story of the bishop, the bear and the oldest records in the Slovenian language. At the art workshop under the guidance of illustrator Agatha Pavlovec, you will also be able to draw everything you hear.
Agata Pavlovec is an academic painter who has been actively creating on the Slovenian art scene since 2002. In addition to numerous solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad, he is also involved in organizing cultural events, pedagogical work and scenography.
In recent years, he has also devoted himself to illustration. Among her works, books related to the Episcopal Area stand out: what trembled with beauty (2017) and Bishop Abraham, Lord of Los (2024).
Helena Janezic is a professor of history and a graduate librarian, employed at the national and university library, where she collects Slovenian emigrant materials. Predstavitev knjige Škof Abraham, Loški gospod, s Heleno Janežič in Agato Pavlovec
